DANGEROUS BUILDINGS HEARING MINUTES February 13, 2019 1:00 P.M. CITY HALL 10 N. DIVISION STREET COMMISSION CHAMBERS 3RD FLOOR – ROOM 301 BATTLE CREEK MI 49014 1. Call to Order: 1:02 pm 2. Roll Call: Carman Hamilton 3. Staff Members Present: Don Wilkinson, Building Official; Richard Bolek, Chief Building Official, Angela Hubbard, Secretary 4. Additions/Deletions to the Agenda: 5. Approval of Minutes: Mr. Hamilton approved the minutes from the December 12, 2018 meeting. Approved 6. New Business: a. 249 E Fountain Street (House) Issue #EN18-12572 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Homeowner not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Official, stated property was extensively damaged by fire. Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming the property as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. Affirmed. b. 396 Cliff Street (House) Issue #EN18-12573 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Homeowner not present. Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming the property as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. Don Wilkinson, Building Official, stated the property was investigated due to a police call. Property has multiple violations and has been condemned. Mr. Cain argued that he is slowly working on the home. Mr. Wilkinson explained the process Mr. Cain needs to follow. Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming the property as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted sixty days to bring it into compliance. Affirmed. 7. Public Comments: none 8. Board and Staff Members Comments: none 9.
