Roll Call: Carman Hamilton, Dangerous Building Hearing Officer 3. Staff Members Present: Marcie Gillette, Community Services Director; Don Wilkinson, Building Official; Angela Hubbard, Secretary 4. Additions/Deletions to the Agenda: Remove 354 Burnham St W, 51 Battle Creek Ave, and 98 VanBuren St E 5. Approval of Minutes: Mr. Hamilton approved the minutes from the November 10, 2021 meeting. Approved 6. New Business: a. 51 Battle Creek Ave (House) Issue #EN21-05665 Fire Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner not present. Property removed from agenda. b. 40 Ferndale Ct (House) Issue #EN22-00144 Fire Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Official, stated that the property was heavily damaged by fire, and that no permits have been applied for and no correspondence from the owner. In its current condition, Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming it as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. Affirmed c. 145 Lathrop (House) Issue #EN21-052240 PD Dangerous Buildings Hearing April 13, 2022 Page 2 of 3 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Don Wilkinson, Building Official, stated that the enforcement was opened due to a Battle Creek Police investigation. He stated that the property is in disrepair and uninhabitable. In its current condition, Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming it as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. Affirmed d. 132 Surby (House) Issue #EN21-03448 Fire Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner, Tom Beauregard, present. Due to the meeting starting late, Mr. Wilkinson had a conversation with the property owner before the start of the meeting. Mr. Beauregard presented Mr. Wilkinson with an action plan to bring the property back into compliance. Mr. Wilkinson stated that the City is working with the property owner to assist in bringing the property back to compliance. Mr. Wilkinson stated that in its current condition, he recommended affirming it as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. Affirmed e. 98 VanBuren St E (Garage) Issue #EN22-00183 Fire Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner not present.
