WESTALKE/PRAIRIEVIEW NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING COUNCIL #10 Meeting Minutes April 22, 2019 Call to Order & Welcome Chair, Jeff Koteles called the meeting to order at 7:05pm (no quorum) Attendance: Members: Chairman: Jeff Koteles, Vice Chair Dave Weaver, Diana Cole, Ollie Griffin, Donna Kowalski, Donna Jaeger Guests: Commissioner John Griffin, Don Bradstreet, City staff: Dennis McKinley city code compliance, Battle Creek officer Randy O’Connell, Darren Campbell city of Battle Creek engineering, Eric Feldt city of Battle Creek Chair Notes/Correspondence/Announcements: none Additions/Deletions to the Agenda: discussion on may meeting added to new business Minutes: no quorum Police Report: officer O’Connell reported an increase in early morning break-ins south of Columbia Ave. Public service announcements from commissioners: Commissioner Griffin reported that the city has a new transportation director Committee Reports: Membership: looking for new members Beautiful Battle Creek award: 138 S. 28th street Woodland Park: none Lakeview Schools: none. City Staff Report: Dennis McKinley handed out code reports. Noted that Recycling dates had changed to twice a month. Water billing had schedule enclosed. City addressing hotel/motel inspections. Neighborhoods Inc. has loan program for home repairs. Old Business: none New Business: canceled May meeting. Special Presentation: Darren Campbell from engineering noted that Helmer road from Gethings road to Beckley road will be chip sealed around June 1st. water main on n 32nd to be replaced starting May 15th, water main replacement on Columbia Ave between Capital Ave. and Riverside to start by July 8th -resurfacing in 2020 by the state. Redoing chip seal on 24th street and Gethings road. Eric Feldt from city planning updated on marijuana licensing. New motorized transportation study being done. Survey available on city website.
