MINGES BROOK/RIVERSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING COUNCIL 11 MEETING MINUTES January 31, 2023 Chapel Hill Church, 157 Chapel Hill Dr. Andrew Duke, President of Minges/Riverside Neighborhood Planning Council, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Church. Attendance: Members Present: Andrew Duke, Dawn Hawks, David Hawks, Brad Miller, Amanda Miller, Colleen Jewell, Jane Prahl, Larry O’Neil, Jan Frantz, Chris Bacik, and Brenda Bengtsson, Members Excused: Ginsie Ingraham Members Absent: Jan Frantz, Kyle Labrecque, Linn Kracht, Al Skienicka, Sharen Sklenicka, Fran O’Neil, Larry O’Neil, Sally Goss, and Chris Bacik Signed-in Guests: Karen Jones, Pat Fosdick City Representatives: Helen Guzzo, Vanessa Hernandez, Chris Simmons Additions or Deletions to the Agenda: Additions/Deletions: None Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes: November 29, 2023 BRAD MILLER made a motion to approve the November Meeting Minutes. Seconded DAVE HAWKS, November 29, 2023, meeting minutes approved. Correspondence and Announcements: None. Committee and Staff Reports: HELEN GUZZO, Community Development, shared about available programs for the community including Rental Assistance, Minor Home Repair, Furnace Program (up to $25,000) and Lead Safe Program. YOLANDA JOHNSON, Senior Code Official, updated code violations and distributed code compliance and inspection issues. Beautiful Battle Creek Award – Chris Simmons spoke about need to give this award to deserving homeowners. Beckley Road Project – Chris reported survey on Nextdoor. Group just getting started Membership: No additions Commissioner Comments: Chris is sponsoring resolutions to leave M-66 corridor as is. He will also ask about the city clearing the sidewalks on Riverside and Capital. Old Business: None to discuss ELECTION OF OFFICERS DAVE HAWKS made a motion to elect Andrew Duke as president and Brad Miller as vice president. Seconded AMANDA MILLER. Motion passed. New Business: Colleen Jewel will fill in for secretary in March.
