Call to order/time convened: 7 p.m.
Attendance:
Members Present: Cynde Foster, Joel Fulton, Phyllis Hopkins, Angel Flores,
Penny Dill, Jerry Dill, Tim Marske, Trudy Hall, Bob Kist
Excused Members: Gloria Mansfield, Cari Briggs, Frank Nemethy
Unexcused Members: Patrick Barnett, Tim Conlogue

City Staff: Commissioner Griffin, Chris Lussier, James Belmore, Kelly Dillman,
Officer Herbstreith
Approval of the Minutes: Motion by Joel Fulton, 2nd Bob Kist to approve
The Novemeber 9, 2017 Minutes. Motion carried
City Staff Repoerts:
Police: Officer Herbstreith gave stats. Kelly Dillman talked of goals and
Implementation of Byrne Grant in the Spring. She handed out
Information for the 2018 Citizens Police Academy that will be held
March 7 – May, 16th. Requirements are: must be 18 yrs. Or older, must be
Battle Creek/Bedford Township resident or a business owner in the area.
The meetings will be every Wednesday (6-9pm) and one Saturday (9am-3pm)
Code: James Belmore handed out reports.
Committee Reports:
Commission: Commissioner Griffen told us of the Transportation Survey on-
Line and the Marijuana Discussion underway.
Schools: none from either BCPS (illness in family. No one from Lakeview.
Membership: none
BBC Awards: Residental-26 Harold St.- Kari West
Business-680 W. Columbia Ave.-Dickman Vet Clinic
New Business for Future Meeting: Elections will be held in January 2018
Speaker: Dr. Denise Washington of the Share Center
She shared with us the diversity of the people who come to the Center in
Their ages, the challenges they face in their lives, single or with families,
Education levels, homeless or with homes (but, with low incomes), or come
From the Haven of Rest’s Wet Shelter. They have extended their hours in
The winter 7am-9pm 7 days a week due to the fact people must vacate
The wet shelter by 6am. They receive meals, laundry services, ID cards,
They have a staff of 4 full-time and 3 part-time. They are grant funded.
They would like to get transportation from the Haven to the Share Center
In the morning and back in the evening for about 20-30 people during the
Cold winter. To help-your time is more important than donations.
There are rules; but, everyone is equal.
We thank you for this information.
Member Comments: Not knowing if Ryan resigned- A Motion was made by Joel
Fulton 2nd Cynde Foster to remove Ryan Lothschultz from membership.
