It has been busy, nothing Alarming. Questions on people burning in yards, cars parked across sidewalks, And speeding in our neighborhoods. Police are working with the Share Center to Alleviate problems (being proactive). Plans to cleanup wooded areas along fence Line of Kmart Parking Lot; and, our NPC will help do quarterly cleanups, with help From other groups and community. Kelly Dillman spoke on the Byrne Grants and that they are done by the end of Sept. She introduced two Ambassadors from other NPCs to us. CODE REPORT: James Belmore handed out reports. Property Surveys are being done And he is helping in NPC4. He reminded us that issues can take weeks or months to Resolve. Code is working with the Police, Fire and street depts.. There was a Code Department Workshop to explain what Code does and the processes-we didn’t Get notification of this from the City; and wonder how word of this meeting was  Passed along to the Public..as it wasn’t well attended. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Commissioner Report: None Schools: BCPS & Lakeview: None Membership (new additions/deletions): None Beautiful Battle Creek Award (resident and/or business: R-453 Wentworth B-303 Capital Ave SW Businesses Report: Mr. Dogs will be going into the old Speeds soon in the Old Lakeview Business area. SPEAKER: Eric Phelps from Planning handed out information on “Get Involved: Updating Non- Motorized Transportation Plan”. This plan is to ensure bicyclists, walkers, joggers, Kayakers/canoers, and others continue to have safe, accessible and well Maintained routes around town. Workshop 2 at Central Christian Church’s large meeting room, 713 Riverside Dr., Battle Creek, MI on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 6pm-8pm. . . snacks and Light beverages provided. Kate Rozeveld from Calhoun County Senior Services handed out materials on what Services are available to any County resident aged 60 and over. All services are Funded by the citizens of Calhoun County through support of the Senior millage. Also handed out was the Calhoun County Senior Services 2018 Annual Report. Green St.,  Marshall, MI 49068 or email krozeveld@calhouncountymi.gov PUBLIC/GUEST COMMENTS: Some residents hoping to hear from Superintendent Prewitt from Lakeview Schools was sorry he wasn’t in attendance; but, enjoyed Information shared. Janet Wilson reminded us there is a work day planned (here at facility) for this Saturday, April 13th from 9am-2pm. There are 9 non-profit groups using the Facility. A survey will be done to see what residents would like to see the facility Used for as it turns into a Neighborhood Service Center, connected to Chapel Hill Church. Member Comments: It was mentioned that the Wilson Tree Project is dead. It was a Project to grow trees on the former Wilson Academy site two acres leased by Greenprint Partners (formerly known as Fresh Coast Capital). Battle Creek Public Schools Superintendent Kim Carter said in an email statement that the School District is “currently assessing district needs to determine next steps for the Property”.
