Call To Order/Time Convened 7PM
Attendance:
Members: Cynde Foster, Cari L Briggs, Bob Kist, Tim Marske, Tim Conlogue, Rick

City Staff Reports:
Police Department: Officer Herbstreith talked about stats sent to Secretary that she
Forwarded on to members. He announced that he was going to become the
Resource Officer at the Lakeview School District; we will miss him as he helped us
With our Byrne Grant Projects of lighting and cleanups. Hotel calls for service are
Down. Some residents mentioned that a bright orange go-kart is still flying around
In our NPC, some problems at TJ Party Store and a domestic problem at the Shell
Gas Station on corner of Columbia/Capital. The gas meter at the Econo Lodge has
Been removed.
Code Report: Chris Lussier passed out the Code Report that was in a format to
Show us how many times the Code Officer may go to the address to address a
Problem-greatly appreciated by the NPC Members to understand the process
Better. Snow removal being the most calls. He also passed out “The Complete
Guide to Finding/Buying/Financing a Home”. He talked about the Non-Motorized
Travel Plan being discussed by the City and asked that we check it out on the City
Web site.
Committee Reports:
Commissioner Report: Chris Simmons told us that the Ordinance to rezone the
Corner of W. Bidwell and Foster Sts. From C-3 Intensive Business District to R-1C
Residential Single Family passed at the February 4 th City Commission Meeting.
At the February 18, 2020 Commission Meeting the Hotel Ordinance will be
Introduced.
Schools: Battle Creek Public / Lakeview School District: None
Membership (new additions/deletions): Motion by Cynde Foster 2nd Bob Kist
To Add Alan Berner and Carla Berner 98 W. Bidwell St., Battle Creek MI 49015

New Business: Election of Officers & 2020 Yearly Calendar
Motion by Tim Marske 2nd Gloria Mansfield that there be NO Meetings in July
And December. CARRIED
Motion by Rick Buchanan 2nd Dave Henkel that Election Slate as presented-
Chair-Tim Conlogue Vice Chair-Robert Kist Secretary-Cynde Foster
Be approved. CARRIED
New Business for Future Meetings: Fire Marshall/Inspector Jones and Kelly Dillman
(the Splash Pad at Claude Evans Park) will be at the March 12, 2020 Meeting.
Speaker: BCU Joe Sobieralski shared lots of good information with us about Fort
Custer and Downtown Battle Creek. Discussion of future inclusion of the main
Corridors being worked on.
