CALL TO ORDER/TIME CONVENED: 7p.m.
ATTENDANCE:
MEMBERS: Cynde Foster, Tim Conlogue, Bob Kist, Trudy Hall, Cari Briggs, Jack Montague, Tim Cole
Excused: Pastor Janet Wilson, Carla Berner, Al Berner, Elisha Hodge, Bryan Mayes

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES; Motion by Cari Briggs 2nd Bob Kist to approve the October 13, 2022

CITY STAFF REPORTS;
Police Department- Officer Milliken handed out printed reports. He talked about arrests, traffic stops
and larcencies from cars/garages. He reminded how important it is to keep you
Cars locked and valuables taken inside.
Code Reports: Jason Francisco handed out printed reports. Kim Brown will be our new code officer
soon; other area code officers have been doing their sections and ours.
He mentioned $20,000 was billed last year for long grass mowing and over 1,500
complaints received. With Snow weather approaching, we were reminded of
Keeping the sidewalks shoveled. Demolition of 2 houses in our NPC will be 114
Frisbie and 421 Capital SW
BCFD: Chief Beaty (from Springfield, ILL) introduced himself. He was asked about work on Fire
Station 4.
COMMITTEE REPORTS;
Commission Report: None
Schools-BCPS/Lakeview Districts: BCPS Jennifer Bentley came to introduce herself and give a brief
update how classes are going since Covid shut down.
Membership (new additions/deletions): None
Beautiful Battle Creek Award (residential and/or business): R-166 Fairhome Ave
Businesses Report: Plumeria is making positive improvements to their new home. Horrocks opening
at new store (old JC Penny’s) projected for January.
OLD BUSINESS TO BE FINALIZED: None
NEW BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS: We would still like Chris (Community Development) to
contact either Ted Dearing or BCU to speak on the housing project
On the Old Kmart Property and any other housing projects in the City.

MEMBERS COMMENTS; Gloria asked for any information on the Citizen Review Board being
considered (she had read something in the shopper). Cynde asked for clarification on who
