Bidwell St. Battle Creek MI 49015 CALL TO ORDER: 7pm ADDITION OR DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA; None APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES; Motion by Tim Conlogue 2 nd by Gloria Mansfield to approve the May & June 2023 Minutes Carried ATTENDANCE; Members: Tim Conlogue, Robert Kist, Cynde Foster, Gloria Mansfield, Pastor Janet Wilson, Tim Cole, Carla Berner Excused: Al Berner, Cari Briggs, Trudy Hall, Jerry Dill, Penny Dill, Elisha Hodge, Bryan Mayes, Jack Montongue Guests: Michelle Tyler, Austin Kist-Coleman, Eva Huddleston City Staff Reports: Police Department: Officer Dilling gave an overview of crime. Problems in Carl Terrace, Lakeview Ave. with crime. Some juvenile crime problems and still cars with no license Plates. He spent time answering questions and explaining thoughts on handling traffic stops. Code Reports: None, no officer Committee Reports: Commissioner Report: None, no one present Schools: BCPS & Lakeview: None Membership (new additions/deletions): Motion by Cynde 2 nd Bob Kist to add Michelle Tyler of 527 Lakeview Ave., Battle Creek MI 49015 for Membership. CARRIED Beautiful Battle Creek Award (residential/ or business: R-141 Spring St. Business Report: None Program/ Networking Tim Cole gave an update on the Grant to BC Foundation. It has been submitted and will take 60-90 days to finalize. OLD BUSINESS TO BE FINALIZED: Cynde will contact the Community Development Dept. to check if we will still Have a Speaker from there next month, as Chris Lussier Asked to be on our September Agenda and he is no longer with the City of Battle Creek. We will miss him as he has been a great asset to our NPC in many projects and answering Questions and giving us a lot of information. NEW BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS: None SPEAKER: None PUBLIC/GUEST COMMENTS: Eva Huddleston came by public transportation at 3:30 pm to attend our Meeting. She helped Trinity Neighborhood Center with their “BACK TO SCHOOL” Event (which Handed out almost 200 backpacks and school supplies). She explained how people struggle when there is little money to live on and how they deal with living, priorities, Crime.
