Bidwell St. Battle Creek, MI 49015 AUGUST 8, 2024 Minutes DRAFT CALL TO ORDER / TIME CONVENED: 7PM ATTENDANCE: MEMBERS; Tim Conlogue, Bob Kist, Cynde Foster, Gloria Mansfield, Pastor Janet Wilson, Elisha Mayes, Bryan Mayes, Tim Cole EXCUSED: Carla Berner, Al Berner ABSENT: Cari Briggs, Jerry Dill, Penny Dill CITY STAFF: Kim Brown (Code Officer) Officer Ben Downey (BCPD Cops Officer) ADDITION OR DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA; Plumeria owners asked to speak APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES; MOTION by Tim Cole 2nd Bob Kist to approve the Minutes of June 20, 2024. Carried Meeting was held one week later due to severe weather. No July Meeting 2024 CITY STAFF REPORTS; Police Department- Officer Downey passed out the reports and gave a breakdown of the stats. He also told us he is moving over to the K9 Unit. We will have a “new COPS Officer” Still to be chosen. We Thanked him for his service to our NPC area. Code Report: Kim Brown handed out 3 reports to us for the Meetings missed. She told us that Megan Root is the Weed/long grass person. Most of the problems were junk and Weeds/long grass, some front yard parking, rent register renewals. COMMITTEE REPORTS; Commissioner Report: None Schools: Battle Creek Public and Lakeview School District: None Membership (new additions/deletions): None Beautiful Battle Creek Award (Residential and/or Business: R-235 Fairfield Ave. B-915 W. Territorial Rd. (Supri’s East End Eatery) Business Report: None Networking Committee: Tim Cole will continue to work on cost of flyers OLD BUSINESS TO BE FINALIZED; None NEW BUSINESS; None NEW BUSINESS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS; Think about what to put on a sign that will be attached to posts on TNC Property (ex: Old Lakeview Neighborhood) like you see in neighborhoods around Battle Creek. Invite John Hart back SPEAKER; Plumeria Owners Elsha Hodge Mayes and Bryan Mayes spoke on all the work done with the old Lakeview Hardware Bldg at 660 Capital SW to today and the Beautiful Business. It now is in our OLD LAKEVIEW BUSINESS DISTRICT. What they have planned for the future. We wish them success and any help they need in the future. We have watched. The progress of all their hard work. They have an Event Room that can be rented. Also, we have a new Communications Manager-Breanne Humpfreys; as Jessica Vanderkolk has moved.
