BCPD: Officer Kerschen distributed handout of April crime stats. Traffic stops generating arrests for
failure to appear. Answered question about how to respond to suspected drug dealing. Make note of
vehicle type, license plate and description of driver, avoid confrontation. Giving warning for cell phone
use while driving. Frivolous calls were discussed.
Minutes for April were approved.
Code: Todd gave handout of compliance and inspection issues for April. Will try to get it to us on e- mail
with agenda and minutes.
BCPS: Chandra reminded that Fremont opens this Fall. Being proactive with nationwide teacher
shortage. Debate over J Slabey's physical absence at board meetings is appropriate representation.
Elected Officials: State Rep Jim Haadsma commented on recent legislation including fair and affordable
car insurance. Thought Lynn Ward Gray's program on the city 's priority based budgeting was lucid.
Comments: JP commented on Benjamin Park clean up Saturday. Sharon gave suggestions for land use
of 2.7 acres of city property across from Central HS. Neighborhood Inc giving a deal with deeds
presentation June 11, 3:30- 5 at NI. Mary Conklin thought the meeting informative. Jim will be available
for constituents 9 am at Mr Don's on 20th St. June 1.
Leah gave handout on library's Summer reading program after the meeting.
