1. Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert Whitfield at 7:03PM. Chairman
Whitfield called for a moment of silence.
2. Attendance: Robert Whitfield, Deborah Owens, Fred Bachman, David Moore, Sara Schmanske,
Kathy Antaya, Patricia Graw, Walt McIlroy, Johnny Vick, Terry Lancaster, Beverly Case, Brian Steele,
Excused Absences: Catherine LaValley, Paula Scarbrough

5. Previous Minutes: Sept minutes amended: January Program – Kathy Antaya, Feb:. Pat Graw, MarcH:
Cathrine LaValley, April: Joshua Fausy, May: Fred Bachman. October Minutes approved.
6. Police Report: Several reports of individuals knocking on doors, asking to inspect sheds, gas meters has
they produce ID.
7. Guest Speakers: T.R. Shaw; reported on various events and the upcoming 75th anniversary of Pearl
Harbor at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. All of their WWII exhibits will be available for viewing. Event
sponsored by the Navy League and Talons Out. Contact BC Community Foundation for more info. 2017 is
the centennial of Fort Custer. Be sure to see the museum .
Niaka Dunbar reported on a new scholarship Save Education Encourage Dream(SEED). Need volunteers
for selection committee. Students can apply and win multiple times.

9. Old Business: Paula Scarbrough reported on the Urbandale Fall Festival. Help setting up barricades,
will begin at 7AM.
10. New Business: Brock Howland has purchased the brick building across the steet from McDonalds.
Currently zoned office, needs it changed to C-2. NPC 5 voted to approve change. 1 no vote, 1 abstention.
Chairman Whitfield will attend Planning Commission meeting to report NPC 5 opinion.
11. Commissioner Comments: Nominations for officers, Fred Bachman and Kathy Antaya will contact
those nominated who were absent.
12. Comments for the good of the Order: Paula Scarbrough reported that ULABA raised $700 at the
Pancake Dinner.
Public Comments: Why are there so many mattresses and Box Springs laying around Urbandale?
