1. Call to order @7:07pm. We have a quorum. 2. Attendance: M:C.Roberts, D. Moore, K. Antaya, P.Graw, P. Sajtar, R.Whit eld, N.Hoard, F. Bachman, H.Stratton, S. Schmanske, R.Ballard, C. LaValley, G: J.Wilson, K. Parrish, Jo,Hocher, B. Llevelyn. CITY: O cer Rose, Eric Morris (Code)Excused: Sharlene VanLuven,Kristin Blood, Patty Poole-Gray, Otto Olson. 3. Approval of Previous Minutes: Motion to approve May 8th minutes moved by F. Bachman 2nd by R. Ballard; motion passed. Motion to approve June 12th minutes moved by D. Moore 2nd by R. Ballard; motion passed. 4. Chair notes/Announcements/Correspondence 21 NPC#5 members. Kathy mentioned the DEI report to be heard at City Commission meeting on July 11th done by Kim Holley. 5. Additions or Deletions to the Agenda: Pastor Janet Wilson mentioned Neighborhood Party for new business. 6. Police Report: O cer Rose, COPS (Community Oriented Public Service o cer) reported on several issues that still were requiring additional coverage and shared the Urbandale police report. 7. Guest Speaker: none Suggestions for speakers: Chris Lussier on a demographic report of NPC#5. Chris is on his way to a new job for the state and his replacement could be invited. Joe Sobriseski(sp) farm BCUnlimited talk on new drone base to be in BC 8. Committee Reports: School: Catherine LaValley spoke Code Report: Eric Morris discussed the NPC #5 code report. Food Pantry The Over ow Church food pantry has moved to Christ United Methodist Church. Also, the Clothes Closet had 95 people in 3 hours one day. Library: none. Nominating Committee: none. 9. New Membership & Renewal: Look a sign in sheet and please update contact information. Joanna Hocher is new member to be. 10. Beautiful Battle Creek Award/Nominations: 284 Morgan Avenue. 11. Old Business - none 12. New Business - NPC #5 Neighborhood party at Christ United Methodist Church will take place on July 28th from 5:00-7:00 pm.a fun and free event for new connections. Food and games will be available. Hoping to be outside in the parking lot. This would be the 4th community event for CUMC. 13. Public Service Comments from Commissioners: Roger suggested if you know of a busted sidewalk in disrepair to call the city manager o ce and report the sidewalk address. An ordinance focused on False Alarms will be approved shortly. A resident or business can have 2 false alarms grace. There will be a new fee of $25 to register alarm system with city. Fell Park’s pavilion has a new paint color (brown) that really looks nice. He suggested that an adult exercise class o ered in the park would need equipment. Contact Roger if you know of any potential sinkholes. River Road (Bryce Pit) has free compost/mulch. City commission meetings for July are on the 11th and 18th beginning at 7:00pm. 14.
