Minutes of the February 10, 2015 Meeting
Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 6:32 by Linda Morris. Quorum met.
Members Present:
• Linda Morris, Harry Zimmerman, Robert Snyder, Cynthia Snyder, Durward McCleary, Laura
Clingenpeel, Shelby Winslow, Kingery Clingenpeel
Members Excused:
• Susan Cooley, George Wytko, Sally Wytko, Rex Winslow
Citizens Present:
• Dalton Edwards, Mark Tillman (BCPD), Mike Wood (BCPD)
Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the January, 13, 2015 meeting were approved. Motion by Shelby
Winslow/Bob Snyder. Approved
• Linda explained the “Next Door Program.” It is a social media/ PD Dept Internet based program
similar to Neighborhood Watch.
Sgt. Wood presented the P.D. report. He suggested that anyone using Craig’s List (or similar sales) ask
contacts to meet at the police department to discuss transactions (for security reasons).
• Information was provided that our new assigned officer would be Zachary Smith.
Linda Morris distributed Code Compliance information.
Linda Morris stated that she had made phone calls to attempt to encourage members to return to
meetings.
Apparently, the lot on the corner of Minges and Beckley has been sold to a group of “doctors” for the
construction of some sort of “clinic.”
New Business:
• Traffic studies have been done regarding a possible stop sign at Minges and Sonoma. By
springtime, results will be tabulated to see if it qualifies.
• The condition of the property at the end of Lois Drive and Beckley Road is under consideration
for landscaping. Current landscaping has not been maintained. Currently, the city or Leila
Arboretum (Master Gardeners – Seniors) are possible sources for re-established landscaping.
• Officer Tillman presented crime prevention tips, stating that there is a meeting at city on
February 19 on identity theft. Public is invited.
• Please see attached file from the Battle Creek City Commission affirming the following
appointments to the RSNPC # 9 for three year terms:
1. George Wytko 2350 Beckley Road Through 01/20/2018
2. Sally Wytko 2350 Beckley Road Through 01/20/2018
3. Harry Zimmerman 4025 S. Minges Road Through 01/20/2018
4. Kingery Clingenpeel 14527 Stone Jug Road Through 01/20/2018
Call for adjournment at 7:26. Shelby made motion and Bob seconded – approved.
