Minutes of the May 9, 2017 Meeting
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7: 00 pm by George Wytko.
Members Present: Kingery Clingenpeel, Laura Clingenpeel, Robert Harland, Cindy Snyder, Robert Snyder, George
Wytko, Sally Wytko,
City Officials Present: Chris Zuzga, Planning Department; Officer Tom Burke, BCPD
Members Excused: Linda Morris, Harry Zimmerman
Approval of the Minutes:
The minutes for April 11, 2017 were approved as printed. Motions by B. Harland/B. Snyder.
City Staff Updates:
Officer Burke distributed the Foot Patrol/Traffic Stops, and the Part 1 Crimes reports for the month of April in
the Rural Southwest. He said now that the weather is warmer there has been an increase in B & E’s and
Larceny and he reminded us to practice common sense safety at our homes. In addition he responded to
several questions.
Chris Zuzga distributed the Code Compliance report for April 11, 2017 to May 9, 2017.. She discussed business
license renewals and parking ordinances for businesses and motel complexes.
Presentations: None
Old Business:
The landscaping grant submitted to the Battle Creek Community Foundation was denied as the foundation felt that
this is a city responsibility. Discussion followed with other possibilities.
New Business:
Kingery commented on a lack of communication in the clean-up of county trails.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. Motions by B. Snyder/B. Harland.
Next meeting: Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 7:00 pm at St. Peter Lutheran Church
