Sister City Exploration Committee City Hall – Conference Room 302A 10 N. Division Street Monday, December 16, 2019 1:00 P.M. Committee Members Present: Jacob Schacht, Comm. Chris Simmons, Pastor David Laisum, Pastor Biak Lian Thang, Edward Thawnghmung, Christina Vansuihnem Sawnset and Mark Haddock Committee Members Absent: Others Present: Alicia Greene, Deputy City Clerk Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 1:00 P.M. Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Comm. Simmons and supported by Mr. Haddock to approve the meeting minutes of November 18, 2019 with noted corrections. All yes, none opposed, motion passed. Business Create Initial purpose and Vision of a Relationship: Mr. Schacht shared informational documents; “Sister Cities International”, “Sketch of Organizations” and “Governmental Unit Comparison” comparing Falam with the City of Battle Creek. Committee discussion took place around who should be included in the Sister City process and goals of this committee. Consider Community Meeting Strategy: The Committee discussed community outreach and cultural exchanges. Meeting Time and Frequency Discussion for 2020: Committee members agreed the third Monday of the month at 11:00am was a good time to meet. Public Comment: No public comment took place.
