Call to order – 1:00pm Attendance – Kathy Antaya, Sue Anderson, Comm. Flores, Andy Helmboldt, Comm. Lance, Comm. Baldwin, Mike Myszka, Kurt Tribett Others present ‐ Liz Paul, Jacob S, Eric Feldt Approval of minutes – motion to approve the minutes from the July 23, 2018 meeting by Mike, Seconded by Comm. Baldwin – approved – all yes New Business – Mr. Helmboldt noted we could have Calhoun County come in and give a presentation about their geothermal system Reports‐ Kurt Tribett noted the new blowers were up and running. Mr. Tribett reported on the water quality. Mr. Tribett discussed future water issues. Comm. Baldwin asked about what we test for in the water. The committee discussed the water system and water testing. Liz Paul reported about the recycling event over the weekend. Ms. Paul noted a very high turn‐out. Comm. Baldwin suggested a social media post about the success. Ms. Paul noted the City received a silver from the Michigan Green Communities. Nothing reported from the Planning Dept. Comm. Flores noted the Transit Master Plan was moving along and discussed. Comm. Baldwin reported the City bought new buses. Line 5 – Comm. Baldwin noted she spoke with Commissioners and they do not want to take a political stance. Mr. Helmboldt stated the Line 5 issue is closed. A discussion ensued about going forward and how to take things to the City Commission without a political stance. Sustainability Plan – Eric Feldt, Planning Dept., stated the Sustainability Plan is moving forward. Mr. Feldt noted his supervisor reviewed the plan and made corrections to grammatical errors. The committee discussed adding a graph or quick reference guide to the plan and other typographical issues. Mr. Helmboldt stated he would provide a Chairperson summary in the next week. Mr. Myszka made a motion to send the Sustainability Plan to the City Commission, seconded by Comm. Baldwin. The members discussed goals and timelines. All yes. Approved. Board Comments – Mike Myszka mentioned forwarding emails from other municipalities regarding their Sustainability Plans. Meeting Adjourned – 2:35pm Next meeting September 24, 2018 at 1pm

Division St. Room 302A Monday, August 27, 2018, 1:00pm The purpose of this Committee is to increase the City's efforts to incorporate environmentally responsible, cost effective policy in the planning, administration and economic development of its built infrastructure and natural resources. The Committee may make recommendations to the City Commission for their consideration and will be available as a resource on sustainability policy.
