City of Battle Creek Sustainable BC Committee Zoom Monday, March 7, 2022, 3:30pm AGENDA Call to Order – 3:30 pm Attendance - Kathy Antaya, Commissioner Kristin Blood, Bessie Stears, Joshua Etheridge, Andy Helmboldt, Jill Anderson, Bob Gilbert, Patty Hoch-Melluish, Sarah Kelly, Mayor Mark Behnke Non-Members – Travis Sullivan, Kaelynn Budreau, Kurt Tribett Approval of Minutes – Kristin Blood made a motion to approve the February 7, 2022, seconded by Kathy Antaya. All Yes. Approved. Reports - City energy efficiency activities - Kurt Tribbet gave a brief update. - Environmental Programs update – Bessie Stears reminder the committee about upcoming events. Patty Hoyt-Melleish commented on some grant applications. Sarah Kelly spoke of some future Calhoun County projects. - Planning updates – Travis Sullivan, Planning Department, updated on various Planning/Zoning issues. - City Commission updates – Kristin Blood commented. Field Trips, Trainings, Etc. - none Public Comment - none Member Comments/Announcements – Jill Anderson mentioned the BCAMC river study. Next Meeting – May 2, 3:30pm, Zoom Adjournment – 4:28pm

City of Battle Creek Sustainable BC Committee Zoom Monday, March 7, 2022, 3:30pm The purpose of this Committee is to increase the City's efforts to incorporate environmentally responsible, cost effective policy in the planning, administration and economic development of its built infrastructure and natural resources. The Committee may make recommendations to the City Commission for their consideration and will be available as a resource on sustainability policy. The committee is grateful for the land upon which we live, and recognizes the Potawatomi Nation as the original inhabitants. The committee seeks to partner when possible with the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP) Tribe in stewardship of the land and its natural resources.
