CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 5:00 PM Baxter City Hall, 13190 Memorywood Drive, Baxter, MN “A Growing Community” CALL TO ORDER Mayor Olson called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. ROLL CALL Mayor Darrel Olson and Council Members Connie Lyscio, Zach Tabatt, and Mark Cross were present. City Administrator Brad Chapulis and Assistant City Administrator Kelly Steele were present. PRESENTATIONS 1. Conduct Interviews: Jeff Phillips 5 p.m.; Kenneth Toole 5:30 p.m.; Thomas Sutherland 6 p.m.; Adam Purcell 6:30 p.m. Council discussion to follow. The council interviewed Jeff Phillips at 5:00 p.m., Kenneth Toole at 5:30 p.m., Thomas Sutherland at 6:00 p.m., and Adam Purcell at 6:30 p.m. Upon the conclusion of the interviews, Mayor Olson called for a vote of the candidates. Each council member completed a ballot. Mayor Olson and Council Members Lyscio and Tabatt voted for Mr. Phillips and Council Member Cross voted for Mr. Toole. With three votes received, Mr. Phillips was selected to fill the vacant council seat. Staff was directed to notify the candidates of the results. ADJOURN MOTION by Council Member Cross, seconded by Council Member Lyscio to adjourn at 6:50 p.m. Motion unanimously carried.
