City Council - Special Council Meeting

SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYONNE, IN THE COUNTY OF HUDSON, NEW JERSEY, HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER, MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 630 AVENUE C, ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 13, 2016. The Council met at 6:04 P.M. The Council President Nadrowski announced: “I would like to advise all those present that notice of this special meeting of the Municipal Council of the City of Bayonne of July 13, 2016 has been provided to the public in accordance with the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act of the State of New Jersey. Notice of time and place of was posted and filed with the City Clerk, and was forwarded to the Jersey Journal and the Star Ledger by on June 30, 2016.” The Special Meeting of the Municipal Council of the City of Bayonne is now in session. The Clerk called the roll. Present were: Council Members Cotter, Gullace, La Pelusa, Perez and Nadrowski. The Council President led the Pledge of Allegiance. ********** 01. Council President Nadrowski moved that the following communication be received and filed, seconded by Council Member Perez, which motion was adopted. July 8, 2016 Robert F. Sloan, Municipal Clerk City of Bayonne 630 Avenue C Bayonne, NJ 07002 Re: Call for Special Meeting of City Council Mr. Sloan: I hereby call for a Special Meeting of the Bayonne City Council for Wednesday, July 13, 2016 to begin immediately following the City Council Caucus Meeting on the same date. The purpose of the meeting will be to take formal action in connection with the issuance of estimated tax bills for August 2016. Council Member Perez moved that the following resolution, seconded by Council President Nadrowski, which was read by the Clerk and adopted. WHEREAS, due to the delay in the adoption of the CY 2016 Municipal Budget it has become necessary to prepare and mail estimated third quarter tax bills; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial officer, Tax Collector and Municipal Clerk are required to certify the estimated third quarter tax levy; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Certification of the estimated third quarter tax levy for CY 2016 is hereby approved and that a copy of said Certification shall be forwarded to the Director of Local Government Services and the County Board of Taxation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the grace period for the tax bills nominally due on august 1st, 2016 is August 15th, 2016.
