The Animal Shelter Advisory Board of the City of Bedford, Texas met in a regular session at 2: 00 p. m. at
City Hall 2000 Forest Ridge Drive, on the 24th day of April 2019 with the following members present
Brian Meaders Deputy Police Chief( Staff Liaison)
Mark Bellinghausen Animal Control Supervisor
Dr. Susan Read Chairman
Karen Killian Board Member
Michelle Watson Board Member.
CALL TO ORDER/ GENERAL COMMENTS
Chairperson Dr. Susan Read called the meeting to order at 2: 00 p. m.
1.
Consider approval of the following Animal Shelter Advisory Board Minutes:
a) Regular meeting: November 14, 2018
Dr. Read advised the first order of business was to review the minutes from the last meeting, no changes
were recommended. Dr. Susan Read made the motion to approve the minutes. Karen Killian seconded
the motion and all voted to approve the minutes.
2. Report on shelter statistical data.
Dr Read advised the review of the stats were the next order of business. Karen Killian thanked Maria
Redburn for their networking in getting two shelter rabbits and a rodent adopted. Karen Killian also
thanked staff for wonderful numbers and for an awesome job
Dr. Susan Read advised it seems like the shelter is pretty full compared to some months and asked if
staff was feeling overwhelmed with the numbers. Mark Bellinghausen advised the free adoptions and
adoptions in exchange for food seem to be popular.
Dr. Susan Read made the motion to adjourn the meeting and Karen Killian seconded the motion.
