Approval of Minutes: Consideration of and possible action regarding the approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the YAB held on Monday, February 10, 2025 - Submitted by Bella Kalra, Secretary. YAB 2-10-25 Minutes C. Public Comment. Note: Public Comments are limited to up to five (5) minutes per person. D. Report from Council Liaisons - Winfred C. Frazier, Mayor Pro Tem, and Jackie Georgiou, Council Member. E. Report from Staff Liaison - Sharon Citino, City Manager. F. Board Business. 1. Update and discussion regarding the Bellaire Beads and Boogie (Mardi Gras) Event held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 - Board Members. 2. Discussion, update, and possible action on a Pickleball Tournament - Board Members Ben Shoss and Luke Loving. 3. Discussion, update, and possible action on the YAB booth at the Bellaire Little League Opening Day - Vice Chair Emma Zadok. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding volunteer opportunities - Board Members. 5. Continued discussion and possible action on suggested projects for the City's Strategic Plan - City Manager and Staff Liaison Sharon Citino. 6. Continued discussion and possible action regarding canceling or rescheduling the YAB May 26, 2025, Regular Meeting due to the Memorial Day Holiday - Board Members. G. New Business: Any YAB Member who wishes to bring New Business to the attention of the YAB shall do so now. Note: Consideration of New Business shall be for the limited purpose of determining whether the matter is appropriate for inclusion on a future Agenda of the YAB or for referral to staff for investigation. Get discounted booth price for Culture and Arts Festival 2. April 26, 10-4 3. Meeting for more information on 2/12/25 at 6:30 D. Beads and Boogie 1. Raffle prizes a. Locktopia, MOD, Crumbl, HeyDay, Magpies, Starbucks b. Still collecting more 2. Gambling tables information a. All supplies are ready, tables, chips, etc. b. Need six volunteers to run the tables from 8:00-10:00 c. Blackjack, poker, other games 3. Food is secured a. MOD, 401, HEB (king cakes + water) b. Kashi will coordinate with Ethan to pick up from HEB 4. Music is set 5. Face painter a. $100 an hour b. Because this sounds pricey, need to scope out other options c. Bella and friend managing face paint? 6. ADVERTISING THE EVENT a. Share sign up genius with friends/family so people can sign up to volunteer 7. Photo booth a. Need more details on different photo booth options because of price 8. Create a subcommittee for decorations a. Sania and Evelyn in charge of decorations b. Consider different lighting options Page 4 of 5 E. Pickleball Tournament 1. Secured a permit for the tournament a. April 19 at Bellaire Rec b. 2:30 pm 2. Food and drinks a. Concessions → board members contribute snacks and drinks 3. Finalizing prize (Dicks, Target, Trophy, etc.) a. Need two because it’s teams of two F. BLL Booth 1. Block out time at a future meeting to focus on creating the game a. Coke bottle cup pong b. Supplies needed → ten coke bottles, ping pong balls, candy G. Environmental 1. Composting with Zero Waste and ESB from March 2 - April 20 a. 12:00-3:00 on Sundays b. Spread the word to promote the program c. Link to sign up to volunteer 2. Evelyn’s Park Earth Day booth a. Same date as the Culture and Arts Festival b. Collaboration with ESB, will lead an environmental craft H. City of Bellaire Strategic Plan 1.
