7. Old/New Business
Daniel Hammill: Volunteered to serve on the County's Incarceration Prevention and
Reduction Task Force.
Michael Lilliquist/Pinky Vargas moved approval of Council Member Hammill serving
on the Task Force.
MOTION CARRIED 7-0.
Daniel Hammill/Terry Bornemann moved approval of Legislative Analyst Mark
Gardner providing staff support to Council Member Hammill as relates to the Task
Force.
MOTION CARRIED 7-0.
Terry Bornemann/Michael Lilliquist moved approval of Legislative Analyst Mark
Gardner providing staff support to Council Member Bornemann as relates to the EMS
Levy.
MOTION CARRIED 7-0.

Jack Weiss: At the Council retreat, the Council discussed the Greenways Levy. Council
Member Weiss is asking for the Council's concurrence that it have a report on July 27,
2015, from the citizen group that is working on Greenways to provide information on
the best timing for a Greenways Levy and to provide appropriate documentation in
case Council decides to move forward quickly. It was agreed that this matter will be
assigned to the Parks and Recreation Committee on July 27th.
Michael Lilliquist: Council Member Lilliquist attended the annual conference of the
Association of Washington Cities. He explained some key topics that were discussed:
engaging young people, using benchmarks as community indicators, and creating
public spaces.
