Approval of City Council Committee and/or Special Meeting Minutes Gene Knutson / Roxanne Murphy moved approval of the June 20th minutes as submitted MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 3 15 Minute Public Comment Period: Linda Twitchell - Redefining single family housing would be helpful. We need to get serious about infill and look at variety in housing sizes and types. She will be submitting a pilot project idea. When developers are forced to lower prices on some units, the cost goes up in the others. She is concerned about inconsistencies in staff presentations. Mary Kay Robinson - GMA creates artificial boundaries that constrict supply and puts upward pressure on prices, which makes people look for housing on the outskirts. Please invite Michael Luis to present his findings. Roger Almskaar - Please invite Michael Luis to speak. Roger has a new alliance with a property rights group. Adam Schaefer - Program Specialist with the Opportunity Council. Housing First is a model that can help curb crime. By having inclusionary zoning, we'd have more houses to buy. We should force developers to build affordable housing. Paul Schissler - This level of discussion is advanced. Let's listen to national experts on mixed neighborhoods, including land trust strategies. It comes down to policy choices and funding. 11. Old/New Business Adjournment 4
