Council Standing Committee Meetings:
Open to the public to attend. Note: there is generally no public comment period for Committee
sessions. Standing Committee Members receive reports and information, ask questions and,
when appropriate, vote on a recommended action for consideration by the full Council at the
Regular Meeting. The notice of Committee Meetings identified below also serves as notice of
Special Meetings of the City Council at the times identified as Council Members who are not
members of the committee routinely attend and participate in the Committee Meetings.
Committee Chairs give a report of the Committee Meeting at the Regular Meeting in the
evening prior to deliberation and formal vote in the order shown below:

Presented by Mayor Kelli Linville and Brian Heinrich
April Barker moved to direct the Administration to return with various options
for moving forward.
MOTION CARRIED 7-0.

Gene Knutson / Dan Hammill moved to recommend approval of the June 4th
minutes.
MOTION CARRIED 7-0.
3. Old/New Business
Terry Bornemann - 1) Is there going to be a tent city at the old Aloha property?
He is hearing concerns from his ward constituents, but he has not heard
anything about it. The Mayor said that the City is not suggesting that.
2) For our Canadian neighbors: Bellingham welcomes you.
Pinky Vargas - Can we have an update on the Climate Action Plan Task Force
tonight? Yes.
Gene Knutson: Thanked Marie Marchand for her four years of service as the
Legislative Assistant.
Mayor Kelli: 1) She has the names of the volunteers to write the pro-Home
Fund piece in the voters' pamphlet. There are no people who volunteered to
write against it. 2) She wrote a letter against the federal government's practice
of separating children from their parents at the border. She will send it to the
Council this afternoon for their consideration to co-sign.
Brian Heinrich: They will be going to a wider search for the Legislative Assistant
position.
Roxanne Murphy: Building Association BBQ was enjoyable.
