Call to Order Roll Call Gene Knutson, Chair April Barker Dan Hammill Council Standing Committee Meetings: Planning 21621 1. Council Planning Committee Work Session on Residential Renter Barriers/Concerns The committee welcomed guests Laura Magi, Property Manager with Landmark Property Management, and Kim Huizenga, Director of Property Management. There was a discussion about the frustrations they encounter when accepting tenants with Section 8 vouchers, including a high rate of no-return deposits and properties left in poor condition. They expressed frustration in working with the Public Housing Authority in regards to the time it takes for them to conduct inspections prior to move- in when the vacancy rate is so low and there are other prospective tenants in line. Regarding the notification of tenants’ rights upon move in, Rick Sepler reported that the Planning Department will be folding that outreach into its Rental Registration and Inspection Program.
