Buddy Rehal called the meeting to order at 5:00pm.
A moment of silence was held for Jerry Guilebbe.
II. Roll Call

Ill. Approval of Minutes
Chuck Clark made a motion to accept the minutes from the November 17 th meeting.
Motion was seconded and carried.
IV. Financial Report
None
V. Unfinished Business
a. Independence Park Sign - Chuck Clark and Cory Paulette sent the sign to
Salisbury. It is moving forward, and it should be done by the first of the year.
b. Holiday _Parade -There was a good turnout for the parade. Thank you to Chuck
Clark Cory Paulette, and Jan Pierce for their hard work.
c. Warrior Weekend - Mayor Cahill is onboard . David Perinchief is waiting to hear
· back about a jump team. The parade route may need to change.
d. Reappointment of Members - Paul Lantz, Chuck Clark, and Bob Laws have been
sworn in .

VI. New Business
a. New Council Candidates - Mayor Cahill will make the decision of who will be
appointed to the committee. Donnie O'Connor's resignation needs to be sent to
the mayor. There are three candidates for an open seat on the council. The
candidates are Beth Donnelly, John Curry and Kevin Gannon. The charter allows
for up to thirteen people on the council. The charter needs to be updated.
b. Elections - An election has not been held since the beginning of the council. Per
the City of Beverly Mass General Provisions, each multiple member body, should
at a minimum, annually elect a Chair, Vice Chair and Clerk. The annual elections
shall occur in July of each year or as near after appointment of new members as
may be practical. The mayor, city council, and city clerk shall be notified of the
officers upon their election. It was decided to hold nominations and elections
for President in January and then hold elections for all officer positions when
new members have been appointed.
VII. Good of the Council
ROTC members will be taking scuba diving certification classes. It will cost around
$1300.00 per member. Senator Lovely is going to be able to get some money from the
state under the Education Act. Jerry Parisella also has some money to put towards it.
David Perinchief has spoken with car dealers and people from the community who think
it is a good idea and are willing to donate.
The four signs for the Vietnam veterans were put up. The dedication will take place
near Vietnam Veterans day, which this year will be March 29 th •
Any veteran on Chapter 115 that needs help with heating, should contact David
Perinchief. If they are not on Chapter 115 housing, they must go on line and fill out the
paperwork for NSCAP.org.
The dedication plaque for Vietnam Veterans Plaza is being taken care of and the QR
codes and emblem are in production.
David Makros will be presented a plaque for his 90 th birthday at the Depot restaurant.
Mayor Cahill and Jerry Parisella will be in attendance.
Saul Gurman is turning 100 and is a distinguished veteran. Paul Weinberg would like to
have him recognized.

The three candidates for the open council seat spoke briefly about their backgrounds
and what they want council to achieve.

Jan Pierce made a motion to adjourn. Motion was seconded and carried.
