VILLAGE OF BIRON 451 KAHOUN ROAD, WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI 54494 PUBLIC WORKS, SANITATION & WASTEWATER COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 8, 2024 8:30 A.M. Members Present: Tammy Steward, Chairperson; Dan Muleski Committee Member, Mike Guillemot excused Others Present: Kayla Lumaye, Public Works Director; Peggy Doughty, Utility Clerk; Samantha Daugherty, Village Clerk 1. Chairperson Tammy Steward called the meeting to order at 8:38 a.m. 2. Lift station repairs – Kayla stated the controller panel at the 32nd Street lift station needs to be replaced. Kayla presented a quote from Xylem. Total cost of replacement control panel and labor is $3,414.77. Kayla had already purchased the panel with Tammy’s approval. Kayla stated the mill lift station work was rescheduled from September 23rd to November 4th. 3. Huffman Road Updates – Kayla stated that the original approved quote from Wood County for paving did not include any pavement marking. Wood County uses Adams County for pavement marking. Kayla received an estimate from Josh at Adams County for two white fog lines 5,735’ long and a dashed center line 5,735’ long. The total is $1,739.74, but that is using this year pricing, he does not have 2025 pricing yet. The committee discussed the three different options for Huffman Road. Option 1 is leaving it as currently designed, total cost $623,785. Option 2 would add a 3’ trail on the west side of the road with 3’ gravel shoulders, total cost $694,463. Option 3 would add a 4’ path with 2’ gravel shoulder on the west side of the road and 1’ paved shoulder with 2’ gravel shoulder on the east side of the road, total cost $704,159. Motion Steward, second Guillemot to approve option 3 with the addition of the pavement markings. Motion carried.  4. Finalize 2025 Budget– The Committee finalized the Public Works and Wastewater budgets. Motion Steward, second Guillemot to forward the budgets to Finance for review. Motion carried. 5. Park Bathrooms – Tammy asks that the park bathrooms remain open through Halloween with the warm weather we are having. The restrooms will be closed on November 1st. 6. Superintendent’s report – Kayla did not have anything to report.
