WATER UTILITY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
October 29th, 2025 8:00 A.M.
Members Present: Jamie Biegel, Chairperson; Patty Gapen, Committee Member Mark
Honkomp absent
Others Present: Kayla Lumaye, Water Superintendent; Peggy Doughty, Utility Clerk
1. Chairperson Jamie Biegel called the meeting to order at 7:59 A.M.
2. Discussion on draft letter to residents –
The committee reviewed and discussed the draft letter to be sent to residents.
Several suggestions were made for additional information to include. At the next
meeting, the committee will set a date for an informational meeting with residents,
which will be added to the letter before it is mailed out.
3. Discussion and possible action on water tower fence proposal –
The committee reviewed and discussed two proposals for the fence. Motion
Biegel, second Gapen to approve the proposal from Security Fence for a total cost
of $6,399 to be paid from non-lapsing. Motion carried.
4. Superintendent’s report -
Kayla stated that the one deficiency from the sanitary survey has been marked as
compliant. Kayla stated that PFAs and Lead and Copper sampling need to be
done next year so she plans to increase the testing line-item in the budget. Kayla
stated that she has a meeting with the DNR and Westwood today to discuss the
upcoming Safe Drinking Water Loan (SDWL).
5. Set next meeting date and time
The next meeting will be held on November 18th at 7:30 AM.
