Hiring Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Hiring Committee was held at City Hall in the City of Black River Falls on March 5, 2024 at 5:00pm. In attendance were Mayor Jay Eddy, Alderperson Desiree Gearing-Lancaster, Alderperson Justin Dougherty, Alderperson Gary Ammann, and City Administrator Brad Chown. Mayor Eddy presided. 1) The meeting was called to order by Mayor Eddy at 5:00pm. 2) It was moved by Alderperson Dougherty, seconded by Alderperson Gearing- Lancaster to convene in to closed session as authorized under Section 19.85(1)(c) of the Wisconsin Statutes for the purpose of considering employment of a Chief of Police / Criminal Investigator over which the governmental body has jurisdiction. Motion carried at 5:01pm. 3) It was moved by Mayor Eddy, seconded by Alderperson Dougherty to reconvene in to open session to take or announce action, if any and if appropriate. Motion carried at 5:48pm. 4) The Mayor announced to those present that we were back in open session. 5) It was moved by Alderperson Ammann, seconded by Alderperson Dougherty to present a counter offer for the Chief of Police / Criminal Investigator position as discussed in closed session. Motion carried. 6) It was moved by Alderperson Dougherty, seconded by Mayor Eddy to adjourn. Motion carried at 5:49pm. A. Brad Chown City Administrator
