10801 Town Square Drive City of Blaine Blaine MN 55449 Anoka County, Minnesota Minutes - Final EDA The purpose of the Blaine Economic Development Authority is to increase the City’s commercial/industrial tax base, provide employment opportunities, undertake redevelopment to enhance and maintain neighborhood economic stability, and address special needs, such as senior housing. As authorized under Minnesota State statutes, the Blaine City Council also serves as the Blaine Economic Development Authority. Thursday, December 18, 2014 Council Chambers Immediately Following Council Workshop 1 Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:22 p.m. by President Ryan followed by the Roll Call. 2 Roll Call Quorum present. He stated the revised budget has a reduction to the property tax levy of $140,000 and removal of the 3M Tournament and Blaine Business Appreciation. He noted these items could be funded from the sale of the senior buildings. He stated the original levy was $342,150. EDA discussion on the timing of the sale of the senior buildings. City Manager Arneson noted the closing is expected to be in April. He commented the EDA does have some working capital. Commissioner Hovland suggested keeping the proposed EDA budget. President Ryan agreed. EDA discussion on funds from the sale of the senior buildings.
