Commissioner Leathers stated the conclusion was that there was 1.4
acres of wetland that would need to be mitigated. He asked if there
were enough wetland mitigation credits existing. Program Supervisor
Krieger responded they did have sufficient wetland credits in the bank.
Commissioner Leathers asked if there was a way to allocate the costs
so the Parks were picking up their share of the credits. He stated he
wanted to make sure they were paying their fair share. Public Services
Manager Therres responded there would be a way to allocate this.
Program Supervisor Krieger updated the Commissioners on the
Lexington Athletic Complex. He stated they had the playground
equipment locked in and on hold so they received the pricing they had
planned on. He indicated they would go to the August 16 Council
meeting to purchase the playground equipment, but it would not be
delivered until it was needed. He stated they hoped to have the bids
out and returned by the end of the year if possible.
Chair Bird stated they would need to wait on changing any of the
amenities until the wetland mitigation issues were settled. Program
Supervisor Krieger responded that was correct. He stated they had to
get a final concept plan done and get the Watershed District’s
approval.
