MEMORANDUM Bloomington Common Council-Interview Committee Team A Bloomington City Hall, 401 N. Morton Street, Bloomington, Indiana January 23, 2024 NOTE: Formal minutes are not produced for committee meetings; however the following summarizes actions taken at the following meeting of Interview Committee Team A. Meeting called to order: 9:03 a.m. Councilmembers present: Isak Nti Asare, Hopi Stosberg Councilmembers via Zoom: Kate Rosenbarger Councilmembers absent: None City staff, officials, and guests present: Deputy Clerk Jennifer Crossley Topics Discussed: As duly authorized, I hereby certify that a committee of the Bloomington Common Council to review and recommend applicants for appointments to the Board or Commission specified below met on the date noted to: ✓ review applications and select candidates for interviews or ✓ interview candidates or ✓ to make recommendations for appointment to the Common Council Board or Commission: Animal Control Commission, Commission of Aging, Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association, Commission Status of Black Males, Human Rights Commission, Housing Quality Appeals Board MOTION: Rosenbarger moved and it was seconded by Nti Asare to reappoint Sita Cohen to seat C-1 to the Animal Control Commission. ACTION: The motion received a roll call vote of Ayes: 3, Nays: 0, Abstain: 0. MOTION: Rosenbarger moved and it was seconded by Stosberg to interview Susan Fleener and Steven Layman to the Commission on Aging. ACTION: The motion received a roll call vote of Ayes: 3, Nays: 0, Abstain: 0. MOTION: Nti Asare moved and it was seconded by Rosenbarger to appoint Autumn Crisovan to seat C-2 to the Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Commission. ACTION: The motion received a roll call vote of Ayes: 3, Nays: 0, Abstain: 0. MOTION: Nti Asare moved and it was seconded by Stosberg to reach out to Rachel Henry and Chris Smith for their political affiliation to the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association (this board has to have someone other than a Democrat to fill the seat). ACTION: The motion received a roll call vote of Ayes: 3, Nays: 0, Abstain: 0. *The interview committee also wants to know if the mayor's office will be appointing Ryan Still to the Housing Quality Appeals Board.
