CITY OF BLUE SPRINGS, MISSOURI MINUTES OF COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 18, 2017 A meeting of the City Council of the City of Blue Springs, Missouri, was held on Monday, December 18,2017, 6:00p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Howard L. Brown Public Safety Building, 1100 Smith Street with Mayor Carson Ross presiding. CALL MEETING Mayor Ross called the City Council meeting to order and led in the TO ORDER Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVE CITY COUNCIL Councilman Culpepper moved to approve the Minutes of the MINUTES December 4, 2017 City Council meeting. Motion seconded by Councilman Lievsay and carried with the following votes: Councilman Kaylor- Aye Councilman Carter- Aye Councilman Lievsay- Aye Councilman Edmondson -Aye Councilman Fowler- Aye Councilman Culpepper- Aye Mayor Ross -Aye RESOLUTION NO. 99- Councilman Culpepper moved to adopt Resolution No. 99-2017 2017- ACTING CITY designating Christine Cates, Assistant City Administrator, to ADMINISTRATOR exercise the powers and to perform the duties of City Administrator during the temporary absence or disability of the City Administrator or, in the absence of Ms. Cates, Chris Sandie, Director of Public Works, shall serve as the Acting City Administrator. Approval of this Resolution, the designations made pursuant to Resolution No. 124- 2014 are hereby rescinded. Wyatt Road. At the E. WYATT ROAD (DEAX- request of the applicant, the public hearing will be continued to the 10-17-6091) January 16, 2018 Council meeting. A motion to continue this public hearing is in order. MOTION TO CONTINUE Councilman Culpepper moved to continue the public hearing on the -DE-ANNEXATION OF proposed de-annexation of 27711 E. Wyatt Road. At the request of 27711 E. WYATT ROAD the applicant, the public hearing will be continued to the January 16, (DEAX-1 0-17-6091) 2018 Council meeting. Councilman Fowler moved to approve Bill No. 4538 upon its first reading and proceed with the second reading. A 16-year old boy was killed in Blue Springs. The Mayor encourages he residents of Blue Springs to say something if you know something to help solve this or other crimes.
