Minutes of the Special Public Art Commission Meeting October 10, 2018 A Special meeting of the Blue Springs Public Art Commission was held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Fieldhouse. The Chairman called the meeting to order. Eleanor Frasier – Present Parks Dept. Staff: Justin Stuart Ramon Magee – Present Jury panelists: Randy Cooper Jeff Carpenter – Present Barbara Landes Kathe White – Present Larry Randall - Absent Greta Hoener – Present Kerri Cole – Absent Approval of Minutes of the October 3 Special Meeting- Kathe made a motion to approve and Ramon second the motion. Motion passed unanimously Phone Interview with Finalists for the 2019 Temporary Art Exhibit “Momentum”: Phone calls were made to each of the 4 finalists that the jury panel had selected. Each artist was asked a variety of questions by the PAC members and also given an opportunity to ask any questions they may have. Discussion and Decision on final artists for 2019 Temporary Art Exhibit “Momentum”: PAC members discussed each of the artists and the submitted art pieces. After discussion, the following motions were made: Greta made a motion to invite Jonathan Bowling and his piece “Wheels” to the 2019 Temporary Art Exhibit. Ramon second and the motion passed unanimously Jeff made a motion to invite Luke Achterberg and his piece “Inchoate” to the 2019 Temporary Art Exhibit. Kathe second and the motion passed unanimously Kathe made a motion to invite Matthias Neumann and his piece “Basics” to the 2019 Temporary Art Exhibit. Jeff second and the motion passed unanimously Jeff made a motion to invite Time Jorgensen and his piece “Cultivate” to the 2019 Temporary Art Exhibit. Ramon second and the motion passed unanimously Visitors/Public Comment: None As there was no further business, a motion for adjournment was made by Jeff and seconded by Kathe.
