PUBLIC NOTICE Vacation | VAC-05-23-8745 “BSSD Career Innovation Center – Vesper Right-of-Way” A Portion of Right-of-Way South of 2101 NW Vesper Street Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Planning Commission of the City of Blue Springs on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Howard L. Brown Public Safety Facility at 1100 SW Smith Street for the purpose of hearing interested parties and citizens on a request by the applicant, Christopher Koch, Hollis + Miller Architects, on behalf of the property owner, Blue Springs R-IV School District, for approval of a Vacation of Right-of-Way, for a 40-ft. section of right-of-way just south of 2101 NW Vesper Street, that contains the existing bus loop for the former BSSD Freshman Center that has been maintained by the Blue Springs R-IV School District. The site is legally described as follows: A portion of the SW Quarter of Section 36, Township 49 North, Range 31 West of the 5th Principal Meridian, City of Blue Springs, Jackson County, Missouri. Commencing at the Southwest corner of “Final Plat of Blue Springs High School RePlat”, a subdivision of record in Jackson County, Missouri; thence along the South line of Lot 3 in said subdivision S87⁰55'37”E a distance of 163.99', being also the North right of way of NW Vesper Street, to the Point of Beginning of Right of Way Vacation; thence N02⁰04'23”E a distance of 40.00', to a point on existing Right of Way; thence S87⁰55'37"E a distance of 711.85' along said Right of Way to a point on the east line of said Lot 3; thence S02⁰19'21"W a distance of 40.00'; thence N87⁰55'37"W a distance of 711.68' to the Point of Beginning, containing 28,470.64 square feet, more or less, or 0.654 ac., subject to easements and restrictions of record.
