PUBLIC NOTICE Vacation | VAC-06-23-8812 “Shepherd Road” A Portion of Right-of-Way East of NW R D Mize Rd. & North of Sunny Pointe 3rd Plat Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of Blue Springs on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Howard L. Brown Public Safety Facility at 1100 SW Smith Street for the purpose of hearing interested parties and citizens on a request by the applicant, Vincent Walker, Ashlar Homes, for approval of a Vacation of Right-of-Way, for a 410-ft. section of right-of-way east of NW R D Mize Road and north of Sunny Pointe 3rd Plat. The application was heard by the Planning Commission and recommended for approval on August 14, 2023. The application was continued from the August 21, 2023, City Council meeting to the September 5, 2023, City Council meeting and then continued indefinitely without public testimony. The site is legally described as follows: A Tract of land lying in the Northwest One-Quarter and Southwest One-Quarter of Section 23, Township 49 North, Range 31 West, in the City of Blue Springs, Jackson County, Missouri, being more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of the said Southwest One-Quarter; thence along the North line of said Southwest One-Quarter, South 88 degrees 11 minutes 02 seconds East, a distance of 30.50 feet to the Point of Beginning; thence North 01 degrees 47 minutes 33 seconds East, a distance of 20.00 feet to the Southwest Corner of "LOT 1, HOMESTEAD ESTATES", a subdivision in the said City of Blue Springs and being the North right-of-way line of NW Shephard Road, as now established; thence along said North right-of-way line, South 88 degrees 11 minute 02 seconds East, a distance of 410.00 feet; thence South 02 degrees 13 minutes 59 seconds West, a distance of 45.00 feet to a point on the North line of "TRACT J, SUNNY POINTE 3RD PLAT" a subdivision in the said City of Blue Springs and being a point on the South right-of-way line of said NW Shephard Road; thence along said South right-of-way line, North 88 degrees 11 minutes 02 seconds West, a distance of 410.00 feet to the Northwest corner of said Tract J; thence North 01 degrees 48 minutes 58 seconds East, a distance of 25.00 to the Point of Beginning, and containing 0.423 acres, more or less.
