MINUTES SPECIAL CALLED CITY COUNCIL MEETING BOERNE AMPHITHEATER AT THE LIBRARY DEDICATION CEREMONY AND CELEBRATION PATRICK HEATH PUBLIC LIBRARY BACK LAWN 451 North Main Street Boerne, TX 78006 April 23, 2016 – 10:30 a.m. Minutes of the Special Called City Council meeting of April 23, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Present: Mayor Mike Schultz, Mayor Pro Tem Ron Cisneros, Council Member Charlie Boyd IV, Council Member Jeff Haberstroh, and Council Member Nina Woolard. Council Member Christina Bergmann was absent. Staff Present: Ron Bowman, Paul Barwick, Heather Bradford, Lori Carroll, Susan Cole, Kelly Skovbjerg, Robin Stauber, Kimberly Wolfe, Larry Woods, Mary Woods, and Danny Zincke Recognized / Registered Guests: Due to the nature of the event, guests did not register. 1. CALL TO ORDER – 10:30 AM Mayor Schultz called the City Council meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Ms. Kelly Skovbjerg, Library Director called on VFW Post Commander Andrew Camplen to lead the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States Flag. 3. OPENING POEM Ms. Skovbjerg introduced the Boerne Beat Poetry Group to recite the Opening Poem. Ms. Skovbjerg thanked the Boerne Beat Poetry Group for their time and effort in creating a poem purposely for the dedication ceremony. WELCOMING REMARKS Ms. Skovbjerg welcomed everyone and expressed her appreciation to everyone for attending the dedication ceremony and celebration of the new Amphitheater at the Library. She stated that when the Patrick Heath Public Library was constructed, it was an aspiration to add an amphitheater to the Library grounds. With the contributions from the Majestic Ranch Arts Foundation, Boerne Public Library Foundation, and the City Council this dream was made possible. 5. DEDICATION AND COMMENTS Ms. Skovbjerg introduced Mayor Mike Schultz. Mayor Schultz expressed his appreciation to everyone who had a part in making the amphitheater possible. He introduced the City Council Members who were present, past Mayor Patrick Heath in the audience, and also asked City Staff to stand and be recognized. 6. REMARKS Ms. Skovbjerg introduced Ms. Ariel Brooks-Stevens, Executive Director of the Boerne Public Library Foundation. Ms. Stevens expressed her appreciation to everyone who helped make the amphitheater possible. 7. RIBBON CUTTING Ms. Skovbjerg asked members of the Boerne Chamber, City Council, and Board Chairs to join her on the stage for the ribbon cutting. 8.
