CALL TO ORDER – 5:30 PM City of Boerne Page 1 Printed on 3/20/2018 Planning and Zoning Commission Official Meeting Minutes January 29, 2018 Mayor Mike Schultz called the City Council to order at 5:30 p.m. Planning and Zoning Chairman John Hollinshead called the Planning and Zoning Commissioners to order at 5:30 p.m. 2. 2018-157 OVERVIEW OF PLANNING PROCESS TO DATE (i.e., existing conditions, engagements) Mr. Bucchin presented an overview of the planning process to date for the comprehensive update to the City's existing 2006 Boerne Master Plan. He discussed the activities held for public engagement; Stakeholder's meeting, public survey, and public open house. He discussed the vision for the future of Boerne and the goals of the Master Plan. 3. 2018-158 OVERVIEW OF CHARACTER AND PROPOSED LAND USE CATEGORIES Ms. Ferry discussed the various types of character of Boerne - understanding the rural, suburban and urban characters. Photos of each type were displayed. She discussed the commercial character: auto-oriented, suburban and urban and displayed photos of each type. 4. 2018-159 OVERVIEW OF THREE FUTURE LAND USE SCENARIOS AND COMMITTEE FEEDBACK Mr. Bucchin continued with a discussion of existing and future land use and development. He displayed a Stability Growth Map and Future Land Use Scenarios maps. He reviewed the feedback received on the future land use scenarios 5. 2018-160 EXERCISE TO REVIEW AND DISCUSS PREFERRED FUTURE LAND USE SCENARIO Mr. Bucchin stated that a copy of the preferred Future Land Use plan is at City of Boerne Page 2 Printed on 3/20/2018 Planning and Zoning Commission Official Meeting Minutes January 29, 2018 each of the tables. He asked the Council Members, Planning and Zoning Commissions and the Steering Committee to provide comments regarding potential further refinements. After 30 minutes, a representative from each table presented their thoughts. 6.
