Bordentown City Environmental Commission Meeting of October 9, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Via Zoomr AGENDA Call to Order Public Meeting Statement – this is the regular meeting of the BCEC held under the provisions of the Open Public Meetings/Sunshine Law; adequate notice has been provided by posting at City Hall and transmitted to the Burlington County Times Roll Call Approve Meeting Minutes for September 11, 2024 Correspondence (none) Reports and Recap  Planning Board Report (Lynn)  D&R Greenway & Abbott Marshland Reports (Joel)  Creative Team (Dan)  Public Works Pizza Party September 18  Troll Trek – “Edward” installed in Boyd’s Pharmacy raised garden bed  Paper shredding event September 28  Cranberry Festival – Plastic and cigarette waste recycling, Wheel of Knowledge, Halloween Costume give away  Scarecrow Contest (Lauren)  Green Team highlights and initiatives:  Plastic recycling through the NexTrex - 75 lbs collected so far.  Cigarette waste recycling ongoing (partner with TerraCycle)  Halloween Costume Swap – 132 costumes collected and 116 given away  Tour of Independent Record Pressing scheduled for October 21 (in lieu of regular Green Team meeting). Registration required. Discussion Items  Any purchases needed before the end of the year?  Sustainable Jersey Certification expires at end of the year Information and updates (discussion only if needed)  Trails Committee o John Brodowski approached the Planning Board about the City’s Open Space and Conservation Elements – both need to be updated  Invasive Species Strike Team – o Need to discuss knotweed management with Public Works (no mowing) Upcoming events: October 13 10 am to noon Invasive species workday October 16 5:30 pm Trails Committee meeting October 21 Tours of Independent Record Pressing Quarterly Check-In Report (Q1 in March, Q2 in June, Q3 in Sept, Q4 in Dec) Representatives of these subcommittees/initiatives will present a status report on a quarterly basis.  Farmer’s Market  Community Garden *****PUBLIC COMMENT**** Adjournment Next meeting: WEDNESDAY, November 13, 2024, at 7:00 pm (Via Zoom)
