Bordentown City Veterans Memorial Committee Meeting Agenda April 13, 2022 - Meeting called to order at 6:32 - Flag salute - Sunshine Notification - Role Call o Stephanie o Bill Collom o JC Platt o Marguerite Hellwich o Lesley Blaser – Virtual o Frank Wilcox – Virtual o Bruce Throckmorton - Bridge Repair o Bordentown awarded $4k grant for application of bridge and track ▪ Pierre LaCombe ▪ Historical Society ▪ By Fall, application will be submitted ▪ Park Service owns the application process ▪ Stephanie to get updates for next meeting - Memorial Repairs o Asked Joe Myers to meet with Bill Collom, Bob Erickson and Doug the Engineer with Stephanie o Will put together a sketch for when repairs are completed o Split into 2 parts semi-circle – pull pavers out, pour concrete, fill in trough, retain cans for lights and raise up to be flush with concrete, using LED up lighting, o Bruce provided the flash drive but can’t print o City Hall has the original plans in Peggy’s office – Stephanie to get o Power washing – CMS offered water source, or we can ask for pass to use the fire hydrant ▪ Frank Wilcox offered to use his power washer to protect against too high psi Regular Business - Meeting minute from January 12, 2022 unanimously approved - Financial reports and audit report unanimously approved - Memorial Pavers outstanding – Chris o Michael Davis (family member of Del Davis of Davis Carpet) ▪ Bowkers received order ▪ Family notified and that it will be several weeks ▪ Stephanie will notify Chris when the order is complete - Veterans Way/Military Artifacts Inventory – Bruce/JC o Bowkers had very high estimate; Stephanie asked someone else to create a concrete mounting base because granite was too expensive due to difficulty obtaining supplies o Frank Wilcox to ask granite places in Trenton for remnants o o Plaque o Cannon o Others? o Letter to City regarding Veterans Way/artifacts o Proposal – take photos of what we want and where we want them to go – JC and Bruce to spearhead - Gala 2022 o Committee – meeting 4/26/22 o Honorees ▪ James Lynch Sr (posthumously) ▪ Capt Benjamin Murphy, USMC ▪ Alphonso Smullen ▪ BCPD Chief Fred Miller, Retired o DJ – Steve Metterlee – charged $350 for three years in a row for four hours o Five hours by Papp $850 – unanimously approved - Art Project – Stephanie o CMS o Letter to City on Art Project – Stephanie o Bruce and Bill will assist in risk management o Discussion of parameters for submission of artwork o Meet with Commissioners about the idea and with the criteria June 1 st - Btown Social Media Policy - Committee Member Resignations o Jim Brimmer change of status request: resignation from committee to non- voting associate member role ▪ Stephanie submitting request to the City o Vince Bernotas suggestion to City for Committee ▪ Police officer ▪ Father was retired 0-6 in the Air Force ▪ Stephanie inviting him to attend the next Committee meeting - Adjournment 7:23pm
