PROCEEDINGS OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL OF BOSSIER CITY STATE OF LOUISIANA TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 6, 2024 The Administrative Council of the City of Bossier City, State of Louisiana, met February 6, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Invocation was given by Council Member Chris Smith Pledge of Allegiance led by Council Member Don Williams Roll Call as follows: Present: Honorable, Chairman Don Williams, Honorable Councilor Chris Smith Absent: Honorable Councilor Jeffery Darby Also Present: City Clerk, Phyllis McGraw, Deputy City Clerk, Amyanna Germany, Assistant City Attorney Richard Ray By: Mr. Williams Motion to approve minutes of the February 6, 2024, Administrative Court proceedings. Seconded by Mr. Smith No comment Vote in favor of motion is unanimous By: Mr. Smith Motion to approve Agenda. Seconded by Mr. Williams No comment Vote in favor of motion is unanimous Agenda Item: Blight Hearing for 1404 Anita Street, Bossier City, LA. Steve Glass, Property Standards requested that all junk be removed and stated that this is a problem property. He has to do a blight hearing on this property at least once a year, and this time Mr. Thomas did not get it done in time. Mr. Williams asked to see more pictures, and Chris Smith asked what we can do for properties like this that are continually a problem. Mr. Glass stated that we do have a code we adopt where the council can fine the owners $150–$500 per day the violation exists. Discussion Between members and Mr. Glass, a letter will be sent out to the property owner regarding their property and fines. By: Mr. Smith Motion to declare it all junk and city to proceed with clean up and for City Attorney or Property Standards to send out a letter stating laws and possible fine and that future violations city will utilize whatever options are available to us.
