City of Bowdon Special Called Meeting of the Mayor and City Council Monday, June 17, 2024 7:00 pm Mayor and Council Chambers 182 Grammar School Rd Bowdon, GA 30108 Meeting was called to order at 7pm by Mayor Randy Saxon. Roll Call: Present: Councilwoman Jan Johnson, Councilman Marty Johnson, Mayor Randy Saxon, Councilman Wes McEntyre, Councilman Bobby Elliott Invocation was led by Councilman Wes McEntyre, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Saxon called for the approval of the meeting agenda; it was approved as presented with no discussion. Business Session: FY25 Budget was presented by Interim City Manager Jim Triplett. There was no discussion regarding the FY25 budget; Mayor Saxon called for motion. Motion was made by Councilman Marty Jonson to approve the FY25 Budget as presented, Motion was seconded by Councilman Bobby Elliott. All members voted in the affirmative. A question was posed by Mayor Saxon to Interim City Manager Jim Triplett, regarding whether there was enough money in the FY24 budget to fund the purchase of a truck for the Codes Enforcement Officer. Mr. Triplett responded there is enough money, and that a budget amendment could be done to place the money in the Codes Enforcement Department portion of the budget. A discussion followed as to why this purchase was necessary. Councilman Marty Johnson made a motion that the council approve the purchase of a Ford F-150 for the Codes Enforcement Officer’s use. The motion was seconded by Councilman Bobby Elliott. Council members Jan Johnson, Bobby Elliott, and Marty Johnson voted in the affirmative. Councilman Wes McEntyre abstained from the vote.
