Call to Order/Welcome-Shari Brown, Economic & Community Development Director II. Main Business- Presentation/Overview of the Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan Blake Ailor previewed the following major subject areas covered in detail in the Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan: A. Goals of the Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan B. Survey results and community suggestions C. Maps of types of parks and their locations, and community service gaps D. Recommendations for existing parks and facilities E. Recommendations for new parks and facilities F. Capital projects list G. Project prioritization criteria H. Implementation steps I. Funding strategy J. Benefits of parks and recreation plans for the community K. Reasons for recommending the plan to city council for review and approval III. Recommendation- Mark Webb of the Bristol Tennessee Municipal Regional Planning Commission asked for a motion to recommend the Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan to the Bristol Tennessee City Council. Mark Byington made a motion  to recommend the plan to city council. Allison Scanlan seconded the motion. The motion passed. IV. New Business-Immediately following the adjournment of the joint commissions meeting, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission met in another conference room in the City Hall Annex building. A. New Secretary-Meghan Ricker has accepted a teaching job in Mountain City. April Norris has applied to fill this vacancy. V. Old Business- A. Resignation of Commissioner Jim Goodwin-Jason Booher made a motion to accept the resignation of Jim Goodwin. Chris Estep seconded the motion. The motion passed. VI. Adjournment-The meeting adjourned at 7:40 P.M. VII. Next Meeting Date-Thursday, January 8, 2015
