I. Call to Order-
II. Approval of September 16, 2013 minutes
III. Old Business
A. Steele Creek Trees
1. Storm Damage- There were 12 trees down in Steele Creek Park due to a
storm back in July. Removal continues and re-planting will occur
2. Aging- More Pine Trees in Steele Creek are dying due to age. Re-
planting will occur
B. Volunteer Parkway Plantings- State funding has come through for the tree
planting to continue. Next Segment to begin will be the area from the race track to
the 394 interchange.
C. Anderson Park- Two trees recently removed from Anderson Park because they
were dying. They will be replaced with hardwoods, oaks, and elms sometime this
fall.

I. Call to Order- Meeting called to order by Jean and Mary Lou at 5:00pm.
II. Approval of May 20, 2013 minutes- Rebecca made the motion to approve the minutes.
Jean seconded the motion. Motion carried.
III. Old Business
A. Steele Creek Trees
1. Storm Damage- There were 12 trees down in Steele Creek Park due to a

IV. New Business:
A. Update on current Tree Grants- We have two grants that will plant trees and
provide signage at Whitetop.
B. Staff Training Class- 12 maintenance workers will attend an all day workshop
at Steele Creek Park detailing many aspects of tree care.
C. Tree City USA Application- Application due at the end of December and
Bristol was on schedule for 2013.
D. Edible Parks- First Orchard was put in at Steele Creek Park. 18 Apples trees
were also put in the park. More Fruit and Nut Orchards coming soon.
E. Spring Tree Planting- Planting occurs every spring and we are on track with
planting fruit and shade trees for the park.
F. Tree Keepers Program (March 1, 2014)- 9:00am-3:00pm at the Lodge in
Steele Creek Park. Door Prizes and board members can contact Jeremy for topic
suggestions.
