CITY OF BRITT – BRITT IOWA – THURSDAY, AUGUST 19TH, 2021 The City Council of the City of Britt, Iowa met in pursuant to law and the rules of said Council in a special council session at 6:30 P.M. on the 19th day of August 2021 via Zoom Meetings. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Arndorfer, and the following Council members were: PRESENT: Curt Gast, Stacy Swenson, Karrie Wallen, Paul Verbrugge, and Chad Luecht ABSENT: None Mayor Arndorfer opened the meeting with payment #2 from Maguire Iron for the 150,000 Gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank project in the amount of $196,536. Wes Brown, Bolton & Menk, has reviewed the request and has confirmed the work has been completed. It was moved by Wallen and seconded by Gast to approve payment #2 from Maguire Iron for the 150,000 Gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank project in the amount of $196,536. A roll call vote was had which was as follows: Ayes: Swenson, Gast, Wallen, Verbrugge & Luecht Nays: None The motion carried. Next, Arndorfer presented the quotes to paint the pool. As discussed at the last meeting, Palmer Pool and Spas submitted a quote in the amount of $19,500 and ACCO Unlimited in the amount of $53,967. The city council members instructed Vance Hagen, Public Works Director, to get a breakdown of what services Palmer Pool & Spas was going to provide so they could verify it was the same as ACCO’s quote. After the breakdown was provided by Palmer’s, it was confirmed the services being provided were the same. It was moved by Verbrugge and seconded by Gast to approve the quote submitted by Palmer’s Pool & Spas in the amount of $19,500 to paint the pool. A roll call vote was had which was as follows: Ayes: Swenson, Gast, Wallen, Verbrugge & Luecht Nays: None The motion carried. With no further business it was moved by Luecht and seconded by Verbrugge to adjourn the meeting.
