Call to Order: Meeting called to order at 6:36 p.m. Commissioners Vyskocil, Oberhauser, Towers, Harte and Chmura were present. Commissioners Schultz, and Duner were absent. Interim Parks and Recreation Director and Assistant Village Manager Ferrari present. Trustee Kyle Whitehead present. II. Minutes: August and September Minutes approved. III. Public Comment: IV. Correspondence: IAPD and ILIPRA Mailing was given to commission members. V. Discussion Items 1. Staff Report: The Parks and Recreation Director has submitted a verbal and written staff report. A written report is attached. 2. The Village will be aggressively seeking a new Parks and Recreation Director. 3. Pavilion rentals are going well. 4. Winter/Spring Catalog will go out in December. 5. Planning for Brookfield Holiday Celebration has already begun. Waiting to hear back from the Farmer’s Market if they would like to partner with the Holiday Celebration or switch weekends. 6. Chamber of Commerce will be creating a list of partnerships for events in 2026. 7. Village Trustee Report: There has been an inquiry into purchasing the vacant Bowling Alley location for a Bar and Grill with roof top seating. All budgets will be finalized on 11/06/25. Updates to Maple South have been moved to April 2026, while Field one restoration will be completed this fall. Next board meeting they will discuss electric car chargers at the Village Hall and Ehlert Park, along with Community center and street improvement projects. VI. Old Business VII. New Business The Foundation sold over 3,000 ducks and raised $17,000. Winners have already received their prizes. VIII. Next Meeting November 18, 2025. IX. Page 2 of 5 November 2025 Early Childhood & Pavilion Rental Report Tots Prep Preschool • The Brookfield Fire Station Field trips were a success. The kids enjoyed the tour, and the Fire Fighters were fun and informative. • All classes enjoyed Halloween. The kids wore costumes and had classroom parties. Many parents attended the parties. Nature Explorer Preschool • The October field trip was to Bemis Woods North—off of Wolf Road. • This past month we have thoroughly enjoyed watching the leaves change colors and fall to the ground. We had our first cold/snow day last week and everyone was happy about it! • The kids wore their costumes on Halloween and we tick-or-treated through the Village Manager’s offices. It was super fun! Page 3 of 5 Teensy Tiny Tots • Even our youngest participants dressed up for Halloween. They were very excited and seemed to enjoy wearing a costume to school. • Our Lead Teacher has a change of schedule in January, so I will be looking for a new Lead Teacher soon. Pavilion & Facility Reservations and Rentals 2026 • Reservations for 2026 open on Monday, Jan. 5. • Online reservations will be available! Fall Programs • Art Works and Energetic Evenings are going well. • The Adult Yoga class has 4 participants, and they really enjoy this new program. We hope to have more participants in the January session. • We are working on the Winer/Spring Brochure right now. I am excited to offer some new programs! Page 4 of 5 Professional Development • I attended a Day Hike Leadership Training. This program was presented by the Forest Preserves of Cook County. Many topics were covered, including trip planning, risk management, common medical problems, effective communication and expedition behavior. We had a lovely 2.5 mile walk as we discussed the various topics. Page 5 of 5
