Motion carried 5-0. 4. Unfinished Business a) Consideration of a proposal to convert leased street lighting to LED Alderman Blackburn felt the 3000 K light looks better. The high pressure sodium lights lens dips down and spreads out more than the LED. The wattage of the luminaire is a bit brighter. Mr. Grisa stated WE Energies uses a lower wattage on side streets. Alderman Hallquist felt the lights are fine and should be sent to Common Council to vote on moving forward with installation. Alderman Berg stated he could see a difference between the 3000 K and 4000 K but it was not significant. The 3000 K had a more modern look. There is an opportunity for cost savings with the energy efficient lighting. Mr. Grisa recommends approval of the proposal based on the cost savings and less than a seven year pay back. Motion by Alderman Scott Berg, second by Alderman Mike Hallquist to approve the conversion of the WE energies leased lights to 3000 K LED as soon as the budget permits. Motion carried 5-0.
