OFFICIAL MINUTES OF A BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MEETING:
Special: Board of Public Works
Date and Time: Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 6:40 pm
Location: City Hall, 2000 N. Calhoun Road, North Conference Room
Members Present: Alderman Rick Owen-Chairman, Alderman Chris Blackburn, Alderman Mike Hallquist,
and Alderman Scott Berg (Mayor alt.)
Members Excused: Mayor Ponto, Alderman Tom Szews
Others Present: Director of Finance and Administration Robert Scott
1. Roll Call
Alderman Rick Owen noted a quorum was present and called the Board of Public Works meeting to order at
6:40 pm.
2. Announcements
The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 7:00 pm.
3. Minutes
The May Board meeting minutes will be considered at the June 13 regular meeting.
4. Unfinished Business
None
5. New Business
a) Resolution awarding contract to JT Rams, LLC for Public Works building roof replacement for a total of
$646,558.
Director Scott noted that there were 9 bids received for this project as outlined on the bid tabulation, and that
the lowest responsible bid from JT Rams, LLC was significantly lower than the architect’s estimate and as a result
the bond proceeds for this project have been reduced accordingly.
Motion by Alderman Hallquist, second by Alderman Blackburn to approve the resolution awarding contract to
JT Rams, LLC for Public Works building roof replacement for a total of $646,558. Motion carried 4-0.

6. Adjournment
Motion by Alderman Hallquist, second by Alderman Blackburn to adjourn the meeting at 6:45 pm. Motion
carried 4-0.
