NOTICE OF NEIGHBORHOOD INFORMATION MEETING
“REC” Recreational District rezoning for Krueger Park and adjacent recreational trail lands.
As a neighbor1 or property owner of the proposed “REC” Recreational District rezoning you are hereby invited by
the City of Brookfield to a Neighborhood Information Meeting to be held on:
Wednesday, July 27, 2022 - 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Common Council Chambers – City Hall
2000 N. Calhoun Road - Brookfield, WI
The City is proposing a rezoning of properties associated with Krueger Park and the adjacent recreational trails,
lands generally located east of Columbia Boulevard, north of I-94, south of Target, and terminating at the
municipal boundary with the City of Wauwatosa. The city proposes rezoning the property tax keys
BRC1108136001, BRC1108136006, BRC1108149001, BRC1108170001, BRC1108991, and BRC1149991001, to
Recreational District (REC). The rezoning is in association with achieving the goals and objectives of the City of
Brookfield 2050 Comprehensive Plan and the 124th Street and Bluemound Road Neighborhood Plan. The
neighborhood plan acknowledges the need to rezone the Krueger Park lands from “I” Industrial and “R-3”
Residential to “REC” Recreational. Rezoning the properties is sought by the Department of Parks, Recreation &
Forestry for installing and maintaining the park amenities for Krueger Park and the associated City trails as
adopted in A Park and Open Space Plan for the City of Brookfield: 2035.
The meeting is an open house. No presentation will be made. City staff will be present to answer questions
regarding the proposed rezoning and process. My office will represent the City of Brookfield and collect written
comments for the Common Council and Plan Commission.
A public hearing regarding this matter is tentatively scheduled for August 16, 2022. A separate public hearing
notice will be mailed.

to gather information; no action will be taken by any governmental body at the above-stated meeting.
